Chris Foster – Gifford Park Community Garden
Chris will share the story of the Gifford Park Community Garden at 35th & Cass Street including key startup activities (2001), water infrastructure, garden shed, family plot rental guidelines & management, composting, espalier fruit trees, blackberry bushes, bees, chickens, youth garden & Adventure Playground programs. He will also talk about their partnerships with Gifford Park Neighborhood Association, Big Muddy Urban Farm, and other organizations.
Chris Foster has been involved with the Gifford Park Neighborhood Association (GPNA) for thirty-three years volunteering with many youth and adult activities and events. He served as past GPNA president and board member. Currently he serves as director of the Gifford Park Community Garden, Youth Garden, and Youth Tennis programs.
