Host, Comedian and local producer Brooke Barsell from Brooke Makes Fun Comedy brings an eclectic lineup to the Joslyn Carriage House on Friday June 14th. Celebrate Father’s Day weekend with local and regional comedians. Comedians include Ed Burroughs, Carmela Anderson, Fernando Villanueva and Cole Sichta.

Ed Burroughs gives a whole new meaning to the phrase; hire the handicapped, they're fun to watch. Having used comedy to get through the darkest times of his life he's hitting the road to share the medicine, laughter.

A dedicated up and comer, Ed seems to be addicted to the stage. Watching him perform is always a joy. His brutal self-awareness and open honesty is jaw-dropping, but the ease with which he delivers earns affection with his audience. You never know what to expect from Ed, but he always seems to give you what you need.

Also performing is Carmela Anderson. Born and raised in the Midwest, Carmela Anderson, a modern-day Moms Mabley, has been performing hilarious adult comedy for over five years. Known as Omaha’s Queen of Comedy, some of her recent accolades include winner of Rumology Bar’s Comedy Competition and winner of Omaha Funny Bone’s Clash of the Comics. Other local clubs where Carmela can be seen include, but are not limited to, The Backline, and the Barley (Omaha, NE), Club Tilt (Colorado Springs, CO), and Tee Hees Comedy Club (Des Moines). Carmela has participated in and has headlined in several comedy festivals in the tri-state area.

Carmela’s style of comedy is no holds barred. Her comedy idols include Richard Pryor, Dave Chapelle, Katt Williams and all the Kings of Comedy. Carmela draws her comedic inspiration from her life experiences. Her guiding motto is “If you can’t find comedy in your own life then what are you really doing?”
When not performing stand-up Carmela acts as “Miss Malu” the slumlord landlady in the web series EVERYBODY LOVES THOSE BOYS (Web Series) - YouTube.

The show will also feature comedy from Fernando Villanueva and Cole Sichta. Cole Sichta is an up-and-coming comedian birthed from the Benson creative district in Omaha, Nebraska. She may be new to the stage, but she is not new to making people laugh. Cole was voted ‘Most Sarcastic’ in high school and has decided to let it define her. She has made appearances on KPAO Public Television for Babes in Joy land and Fool’s Brawl. She has graced stages at nearly every comedy venue in Omaha, including the Funny Bone, the Benson Theater, the Backline, the Dubliner, and the Blackstone Theater. Cole is one of the illustrious hosts of the Sydney open mic in Benson. When she’s not onstage delivering her hot takes on pop culture or trying to put a funny spin on the current horrors of the world, you can find her hiking, taking photos, or rewatching the Sopranos for the tenth time.

Fernando's comedy style is focused on storytelling and connecting with the audience. He shares humorous anecdotes about his life experiences, including his journey from growing up in California to living in Nebraska. His relatable and down-to-earth approach has resonated with audiences, making him a rising star in the comedy scene. Expect a hilarious and authentic performance!
