Join us for a whirlwind of an evening with local twister history, preparedness tips, and tales from the frontlines from a real storm chaser!

Saturday, March 23rd, 4pm-7pm. Tickets are $10, or $7 for students.

Funnels of Fear takes a look at these devil clouds from all angles. This is an educational evening for the community - bring a friend and get twisted in the Joslyn Castle Carriage House.

The Carriage House is located behind the Castle to the North. We'll have a small bar available. Capacity is limited so register soon!

About our presenters:

- Mike Tobias takes a look back at the devastating 1913 Easter Tornado that hit the Joslyn Castle and all but leveled the neighborhood. Mike Tobias is a Senior Producer with Nebraska Public Media who has produced a wide range of engaging stories, documentaries and projects since joining NPM in 2000. His content for television, radio and digital distribution has earned dozens of awards, including three regional Emmys, and aired nationally on PBS and NPR programs. Among other projects, Tobias currently hosts and produces a series on innovation and creativity in Nebraska, “What If…”

-Lacey Brown, a State Farm Insurance agent, will guide us through how to best prepare our homes and businesses in case of an encounter with a tornado. Lacey graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Business Administration. She opened the doors to her own State Farm office in 2020 amongst the other amazing businesses in Downtown Ralston!

-Nathan Moore, an experienced storm chaser, will share stories from the frontlines along with photos and videos of his close encounters. Nathan is a freelance Meteorologist and Extreme Storm Chaser, and owner of Going Live Media and StormViewLIVE. He also chases for KETV ABC out of Omaha and NTV out of Central Nebraska.
