About the Exhibition:
Opera Omaha’s upcoming production of "The Rake's Progress," is a satirical opera that narrates the rise and fall of Tom Rakewell, who is seduced by promises of wealth and pleasure, only to be ensnared by the city's temptations. Designed by Hockney, the production blends his playful visual style with Stravinsky’s dynamic score, offering a rich source of inspiration.
Artists were asked to draw inspiration from the following:
-Themes: Color, Joy, Whimsey, Pattern, Vibrancy
-Focus: Engage with the lush visuals and intricate narratives inspired by Hockney’s designs and the opera’s story.
