Art Walk and Festival Opening Reception
Update! Due to the weather the Art Walk at the Joslyn Castle has been moved INDOORS. Our Art & Literary Festival French Cafe reception will be held inside the Carriage House, and our Art Walk vendors will be located inside the Castle!

Join us for our second ever Art Walk along the vibrant and historic 40th Street corridor!
Bring the entire family for an evening out in the Joslyn Castle neighborhood along 40th Street, between Dodge and Cuming Streets. District partners Cathedral Arts Project Omaha, Cali Commons, Joslyn Castle & Gardens, and the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood Association, are looking forward to opening up our venues for an evening of art, food, and fun!
Your Art Walk includes:
Joslyn Castle & Gardens – Join us for the opening reception of the Art & Literary Festival with a Parisian café in the Carriage House! In the theme of festival, we’ll be hosting a Hemingway lookalike contest and snacking on pastries. Document your look in the tin type booth!
Adam Dienst-Scott, photography faculty at Metropolitan Community College and Co-director of Link Gallery + Workshop, and Anne Dienst-Scott, Co-director of Link Gallery + Workshop, will be shooting tintype portraits during the reception.
In addition, we are thrilled to welcome several local creatives to share their wares and their processes with our visitors. The Boss of the Sauce Marlon Wofford of Dripps BBQ is back to feed your cravings.
After the Art Walk, guests are invited to attend a performance of “Hemingway and the Lost Generation” inside the Castle at 7:30pm with tickets.
Cali Commons – You’re invited for a first look at the Artober Art Show (a two-day engagement) with local Artist and light refreshments served.
Cathedral Arts Project – The Sunderland Gallery will host an open house featuring the “Plein Art” exhibit featuring local plein air artists including Paula Wallace, Tim Hantula, Janet Vadon, Marcia Wilson Holliway, Julie Seevers, Kathleen Keller, Roberta Kramer, and more. Wine and cheese will be served.
The Offutt Manor – Explore the stately historic home located directly across the street from the Joslyn Castle. The bed and breakfast will be open to the public for visitors.
Across Dodge Street in Blackstone District, our friends at Link Gallery & Workshop with be hosting an open house in the gallery space.
