Description:
"For The Birds" is an anthropomorphic graphic novel with multiple principal characters. The story focuses on Phillip Barbet, a Violet-Backed Starling and Billy Maidlow, a honey-bee in a polyamorous relationship.

The graphic novel follows Phil as he handles his grief of the death of his fiancée, Ora. While Billy navigates her poly relationship. The nightclub Menagerie acts as a focal point for all the other animals who work and play in its ecosystem.

Christopher’s Bio
Christopher James McLucas is a student of the James Gunn Center of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas and was a runner-up in the first annual Analog Award for Emerging Black Voices. He’s self-published three anthologies, a children’s book and a sci-fi novel. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and has never lived in another state. He currently lives on 38th and Leavenworth where reads, writes and knits.

Hannah’s bio
Hannah Maitland has been drawing cartoon animals her whole life. She studied both traditional and digital art techniques at Metropolitan Community College, completing two associate degrees in 2012. When she's not drawing cartoon animals, she enjoys making comics and illustrations based on her favorite video games. In the future, she hopes to continually improve her artwork and create illustrations that evoke strong emotions.
