Do you have a flair for the eccentric? Find yourself haunting estate sales and swap meets? Come all ye dedicated followers of fashion to the Castle to shop a selection of the finest vintage clothing vendors to be found in these Great Plains! We are partnering with Conscious Collections Festival to bring you a vintage clothing and sustainable fashion summit that you won’t want to miss!
What to expect: Shop 25 curated True Vintage vendors, mending service, fashion show and a Special Guest Speaker.

3pm – 4pm Mary Anne Vaccaro – Joslyn Castle Carriage House $25
We are proud to welcome our Special Guest Speaker, Mary Anne Vaccaro: WHAT, WHY, WHEN, & WEAR VINTAGE!
This is a separate, ticketed event in the Carriage House from 3-4pm. Your $25 ticket grants you entrance to the presentation as well as the vintage fashion faire in the Castle from 4-8pm!
Learn WHAT classifies a garment as Vintage and WHAT it says of its time. WHY collect and wear vintage today. WHEN wearing Vintage has its place and time. How to wear vintage authentically and how to bring your style to vintage! WHAT FASHION in General says about our culture!
Presented by Mary Anne Vaccaro, Omaha’s Nationally recognized Fashion and Bridal Wear Designer, Fashion Advertising Illustrator and Copywriter, Image Consultant, and Fashion Stylist.
Mary Anne Vaccaro has lived and loved the Business of Fashion since childhood. She will share stories related to Vintage Designs from the 1950s as a child observer, from the 1960s on the Fashion Board at JL Brandeis, from Art and Fashion studies in college, from New York’s 7th Avenue 1970 to now, from her advertising career as a Fashion Illustrator and Copywriter for 50 stores in 5 states, to her longtime career as the designer of close to 40,000 couture creations made in her Omaha Design Studio.
4pm – 8pm Vintage Faire in the Joslyn Castle, $10
Shop the collections of 25 vintage clothing vendors from Omaha and the greater Midwest offering authentic antique Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco clothing through fun flashy 60’s, 70’s 80’s and trendy 90’s and Y2K clothing!
The Castle bar will be open for your happy hour browsing, so please bring a valid ID to partake!
All that shopping can sure work up an appetite, luckily Zaytuna Mediterranean Food Truck will be set up in the parking lot from 4-7pm for dinner bites! Weather permitting, bring a blanket and have a picnic in the Castle Garden.
Menders at the Manor
The Conscious Collections Menders crew will be set up in the Castle Music Room offering their on-site mending services. Bring your wardrobe favorites that need a little TLC and our menders will fix your pieces on the spot for an affordable fee (cash and venmo accepted).
5pm – 6pm Swap Omaha Drop Off in the Carriage House
Bring a bag of clothes from your closet that you are ready to cycle out in exchange for something new-to-you! You do not need a ticket to the Vintage Faire in order to participate in the swap.
Swap Omaha is a community-wide clothing swap dedicated to keeping clothing in circulation. Our clothing swaps and events are centered on the fashion industry and what it means to be sustainable as individuals, as a community and as a collective. Co-Founders Sami Hartong and Lauren Bates help keep fashion out of landfills by giving gently used pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories new life in a new home while making sustainable fashion more accessible by prioritizing community and inclusivity.
